Bear-tex™ from Norton Abrasives is a non-woven web of nylon embedded with abrasive particles that are bonded with synthetic resins to produce a cushioned material which is pliable and offers consistent wear and performance. Bear-tex™ hand pads can be used on a wide range of materials such as aluminium, brass, copper, nickel, stainless steel, titanium, ceramics, fibreglass, plastics and wood. They can be used dry or with water/oil as a polishing medium.
Aluminium Oxide options tend to be more durable, produce less discolouration on aluminium and be more aggressive than Silicon Carbide pads in certain applications eg. use on hardened steel parts
